In short

Hold Frame's color picker from image finds the exact color of any pixel: upload, drag in or paste an image, move the magnifier over it and click to get the HEX code, RGB and HSL values with one-click copy. It also extracts the image's 5–10 dominant colors as a palette you can copy as HEX or CSS variables or download as a PNG swatch card. It runs in your browser, so it's free with no sign-up and the image is never uploaded.

FAQ

How do I get the HEX code of a color in an image?

Upload or paste the image, hover to see the magnified pixels, and click the spot you want. The HEX code appears instantly — click Copy HEX.

Can I get RGB or HSL instead of HEX?

Yes. Every pick shows HEX, RGB and HSL, each with its own copy button.

How accurate is it?

It reads the exact pixel value from the image as your browser decodes it (images over 2400 px are scaled for display, which can average neighbouring pixels slightly).

Can I pick a color from a screenshot?

Yes. Take a screenshot and paste it with Ctrl+V or ⌘+V — no need to save a file.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Tap the image to pick; the magnifier appears above your finger.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The image is read in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.

Can it make a color palette from the image?

Yes. The dominant colors appear below the picker; open the color palette page for more export options.
